I've had that conversation with male friends as well. I've had a few male friends who were very annoyed by my head scarf, and those were situations where there was no need for sexy.
That's why I think you should be comfortable from the beginning. Don't fool the potential boo. Let him know what he's getting himself into from the beginning so there are no surprises, and he has no reason to complain. Lol.

Re: Help – My Girl Is Letting Herself Go

I personally think you men are holding back. There have been too many conversations I've had with men about women and the headrag lol. I know you say you like it an all (for those who have responded) but, I don't believe it lol.

Re: Help – My Girl Is Letting Herself Go

My husband thinks I look hot in my head rag and sweatpants

but then, I guess it's different if that's all I'm wearing

I wish I'd known that before I blew all that money on the Fredrick's stuff he doesn't even pay attention to...

Re: Help – My Girl Is Letting Herself Go

LOL @ the head wrap. Well I usually ask the guy if he minds if I wear one to bed. If he seems a little hesitant, I usually wait til ya boy is asleep and then slip the scruffy do-rag on! (muahahahaaa) lol

Re: Help – My Girl Is Letting Herself Go

As a guy if a girl is comfortable to put a head rag on around me...it kinda makes me feel good.

Re: Help – My Girl Is Letting Herself Go

i like the head wrap

LOL

Re: Help – My Girl Is Letting Herself Go

Nice article. Yes, men do get comfortable too but even if THEY do that doesn't mean we should too. Even after having a baby and mommy life, I strongly believe keeping yourself together. Because how you reflect yourself on the outside sets the ground for the inside. You could feel great inside but if on the outside you look rugged then there is imbalance. When you walk out that door, you should be ready for your day (unless you are going to take out the trash).

Now take being out of shape.. it isn't a matter of staying healthy to look good for your partner... it's simply for YOUR health. Living long and having a better quality of life should be something that you should strive for. Trust me, I would not stop taking care of myself if my man started to let himself go. I'm not trying to die of diabetes or heart disease. But if he were to be going to gym all the time, be sure I would be at the gym too.

The comfortable look at home is just the way it is for men and women. Give me a reason to get all dressed up and cute... and that night you'll see all the cute underclothes come out. It gets played out if it's everyday but definitely keep it to spice things up or for those special nights.

Compliments do go a long :) I agree.

Thanks for the article!

Re: Help – My Girl Is Letting Herself Go

Not wearing a scarf at night is very superficial.Any woman or at least any Black woman that keeps her hair up is most likely going to sleep in a scarf. I never knew that sleeping is suppose to be sexy lol. Not saying that some women don't do this but, I don't think most of us do. I often see these articles in regards to women but, what about all these men out here with beer bellies???? Men get comfortable too..
