    I think that !arack and Michelle's relationship just illuminates so many oÞher functional. And loving Black relationships and families. Now I'm not saying that we as a race don't have a long way to go in this arena. However, I do feel that we at times get a bad wrap. What the Obama's have my parents have had for 27 years and so have most of my friend's parents.It is time that we give the Black family swagger some credit because it has been in exsistence and maybe now with a Black family in the White House couples like "The Stanfields" for instance won't be seen as an irregularity in Black culture byt the absolute norm. Or at least that will be the expectation.

    the definition of swagger is overstated confidence. and anyone who says otherwise is using the word wrong and has no clue on it's implementation in the english language.

    <=== thinks swagger/swag/swagtastic is the most craptacular overuse of a word in recent memory.

    Hey there!

    The Obamas are a lovely-looking couple and they have beautiful little girls ...but the Obamas ARE NOT the epitome of the black race...they are not the ultimate that exists in the black race...

    It's great to be proud and happy for their victory...but they are NOT the standard for all blacks....they are two human beings...they are not junior Jesus Christ figures in black America. (I know you weren't implying that but I'm just saying.)

    I agree, they are not the junior Jesus Christ figures....BUT....they are a GREAT example for what people (particularly Black people) should strive to emulate. I see them as great role models. I am a grown woman and I still admire Michelle and all of the things she has been able to do AND keep such a beautiful family.
